Checkout The 4G Band Your Smartphone Supports Before Buying Or Swapping

Have you checkout your 4G Band frequency before buying or swapping your sim for it? Your phone supports 4G LTE doesn't mean it can work for all sim cards or networks because all 4G network providers supports different networks frequency and bands in which network works on.

So I will advice you to check your phone specifications and features before you go for this, in order for your 4G network not to fail and that's one of the reason i am revealing their network bands and frequency.

  • Ntel uses band 3 (1800mhz) and band 8 (900mhz)
  • Spectranet and Swift both use band 40 (2300mhz)
  • MTN uses band 7 (2600mhz) and 20 (800MHz)
  • Smile uses band 20 (800mhz)
  • Glo uses band 28 (700MHz)
Well, 4G LTE are scattered among devices and networks. Let me say, 4G LTE has different network transmission bands which includes 1,2,3,7,20,21,28 E.t.c while many bands are popular and few are not available for some smartphones. Meanwhile, Glo 4G band reportedly falls on band 28 which is hard to find as over 80% of popular 4G phones in Africa and Nigeria in particular don't support band 28 including Infinix Hot S.

Infinix or Tecno LTE devices does not support band 28/700mhz and Glo really got this wrong. Meanwhile, if you are not sure if your device supports band 28/700mhz, send 4G to 400 in an SMS using your glo sim. Glo just rushed their 4G LTE network.

Which network provider has the best 4G LTE Network?

The best network operator with true 4G LTE on mobile and with true 4G LTE network coverage is MTN and NTEL because they are the only one that bided for the 2600 band that you will find on most mobile phones. MTN LTE bands is 800 and 2600 bands and they have more than 1000 sites already.

If you have their service in your location or area, kindly go for them and enjoy the spirit of 4G LTE service.

Always try to check your phone specifications because is not all phones that's supports 4G LTE can work with your sim. Try to always find out the 4G band of your phone and also compare it with the 4G support of your preferred network.
