Whatsapp now successfully released new feature that allows a user to tag his friends and families or other participants in a group chat, so they receive the message even if they have muted the conversation. This feature works on all Android and iOS but not yet added on the desktop/PC Whatsapp application.
So with this new tagging whatsapp feature, the Facebook-owned messaging service is making it even easier to keep the conversation alive with multiple contacts. Well, whatsapp previously added quote, italic, bold messages in group chat and also increase group size from 100 to 256 participants in one group.
How to tag users in a whatsapp group chat
- Firstly, update your whatsapp application by clicking here for Android and click here to download for IOS.
- Then launch it after downloaded.
- After that, enter a group chat and type "@" symbol without the quote.
- Then choose participants from the contacts that will pop out or you can tag multiple contacts in a single message.
Note: It also works with contacts that you haven’t saved to your address book, but are part of the same group chat as you.
