End Of An Era: Blackberry To Stop Production Of Mobile Phones

Some years back, blackberry was among the world largest smartphones maker which has decided to stop phone manufacturing business. Some days back, I revealed that there were rumors that Blackberry plans to end the Phone manufacturing part of the business, as it turns out, the rumors were true. The company revealed in its latest Financial report via Vanguard that they will be exiting hardware development game.

So blackberry is gone and dead, see what John Chen, Blackberry’s CEO stated;

“The company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners. This allows us to reduce capital requirements and enhance return on invested capital.”
Now, you should bear in mind that this doesn't mean that blackberry is totally exiting the phone business. It means that blackberry future Blackberry phones will only be Blackberry phones by name only - AKA (also known as) so they tried to give it to other companies who have licensed the brand.

Let me explain it better for the blazers, it means future blackberry phones will be given to other companies and they will give it a new name and also call it AKA blackberry. Similar to what Google does with its Nexus devices.

So this also means that we might not be seeing some of the signature designs (For example, the QWERTY keyboard) that make Blackberry phones what it is, but this is way better than giving up entirely!
