New Ways To Fix "Unfortunately App Has Stopped" Error On Android Device

You just opened or launched your application and it pop out a message saying "Unfortunately App Has Stopped" and immediately it automatically stopped which is very annoying and it is one of the common problem that always happen to Android users. This problem or issue can be solved perfectly in many simple ways which I am going to treat in this topic.

Android is one of the popular OS (operating system) which has many features and applications to perform different tasks which make Android users hang around with their device at all time but this issue can prevent you from opening all applications. So let's go on with the six methods to solve the issue now.

How to fix the "Unfortunately App Has Stopped" on Android device with six full steps.

Step 1: Clear Cache And Data: You can resolve this issue by clearing the cache and data from your device because it may have stored unnecessary cache so you can clear it by using this three methods below.

  • Method 1: Go to Setting >> Go to storage >> click on cached data. This will clear the cache of the all applications at once.
  • Method 2: Go to Setting >> Apps >> All
  • Select the specific app >> Clear cache and data. This will clear the cache and data going to the specific application.
  • Method 3: You can use automatic clean up applications which are very many on playstore E.g Clean master. Go to clean master >> click on Junk Files and clear the cache and data. This method will free your space also.

So after clearing cache and data kindly restart your device and immediately it will open because it might be that your applications are running at once so when you clear it, it will automatically free some space and if works perfectly but if the issue still persists kindly follow the next method below.

Step 2: Update the application: The application might be outdated so you can update it on playstore by going to Google Play Store >> Go to Menu >>Find My apps >> Slide right and Go to Installed and if the application need updating, you will see it there UPDATE then kindly update it and immediately it will work back.

Step 3: Uninstall And Install The Application: The application might have been showing that because of some problems wrong with application kindly uninstall and reinstall it back. As explained below;

Go to Setting >> Go to Application Manager (Apps) >> All >> Select the application that is showing you the error message >> Click on the option Uninstall the application.

Then go to Playstore and install the application back then your solution might have been solved and if it still persists kindly move to the next solution below.

Step 4: Wipe Cache Partition From Recovery Mode: This method works perfectly and fine for many Android users by wiping the cache partition.

  • First turn off the phone >> Press volume up and power button together to go to Recovery Mode.
  • (It depends upon the phone that you are using to go to Recovery Mode. For some phone, pressing volume Up and Down with power button at the same time helps to go in Recovery Mode. Just find out which one works for your device to enter in Recovery Mode).
  • After that Recovery Mode will appear with many options >> use volume up and down to control the screen and power button to press ok.
  • Select wipe cache partition >> press power button and it will then start cleaning the cache.
  • A message will appear after the completion >> Select reboot system now and it will  start rebooting your device.

So you have successfully wiped the cache partition which will delete the saved data like the high score, game and others.

Step 5: Remove Unwanted Launcher: When you have too many launcher can also result to this issue so you have to remove or uninstall them by following the process below.

Go to Setting >> Go to Application Manager (Apps) >> All
Select the launcher >>Click on the option Uninstall. Then go to default launcher and set it on it then reboot your device. 

With this method, you can also solve the issue. 

Step 6: Factory Reset Your Phone Or Device: In this method, you have to flash your phone and everything you have on your phone will be wiped out immediately and this method will remove all applications you installed or collect from your friends are anyone except the pre-installed application which is the follow-come application will be left just the way you bought the phone or device but you can backup information and data before you reset in order not to lose everything.

Go to Setting >> Scroll down and select Backup & reset option >> Once you click Backup & reset >> Other option will appear Then click on Factory Data reset.

With this method, you have perfectly resolve the issue and it can never in its life come back again.
