How To Root Your Tecno Camon C9 Or Android 6.0 Marshmallow

To root Android 6.0 Marshmallow has seems very hard and sometimes fails to root and give permission. Many people are not able to root their Android 6.0 Marshmallow devices, just because of the application called Kingroot failed to process the rooting. Well, I have finally found out a perfect solution to solve that little problem you might have been facing to root your Android device that runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and especially Camon C9 and other devices.

What is rooting?

According to Wikipedia, Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems.

So when your device is being rooted, you will have total control and authority to use the phone in any way or manner you like by accessing all applications and giving all applications permissions and withdrawing permissions from them also.

In my previous post, I wrote about the rooting of any devices using Kingroot application for both Android and desktop (PC - personal computer) but that method slightly work on Android 6.0 Marshmallow but this method right here in this post, is the full and perfect way to do that task completely without any errors or omissions. So I want to give you the disadvantages and advantages of rooting your Android or personal computer (PC or desktop), checkout below!

These disadvantages of rooting don't just affect your phone like that, except you are trying to do any wicked act with the rooting.

So to those who are not able to root their devices, hovatek team has finally find the solution to that and see how to root your stubborn phone below;


Well, you don't need much but just some requirements to make this come true with some minutes.

  • You need CWM recovery image Ported by team hovatek which you can download by clicking here
  • You need Super which you can download here also.
  • If is Camon C9 you need to unlock the boot-loader of Tecno Camon C9
  • That's all!

How to root Camon C9 and Android phone running on 6.0 Marshmallow

So Follow up below;

  •  Firstly, copy the downloaded Super SU to both internal storage of your phone and SD card.
  • Extract and copy the CWM recovery.img into the same folder as the fastboot.exe and adb.exe
  • If you don't know how to unlock the Camon c9 bootloader kindly follow here to get that done.
  • Then connect the phone to your PC or desktop via USB cord while switched ON and boot it into Fastboot (as instructed in the Bootloader unlock guides). 
  • After that, your device will enter fast boot immediately,  then flash the recovery.img to the phone by typing the command below then pressing Enter fastboot.
  • flash recovery recovery.img

    • So Reboot the phone by typing the command below then pressing Enter fastboot reboot

  • Boot the phone into recovery mode by switching off and using Volume up button + Power button.
  • Once you enter recovery mode, use the volume button to move up and down
  • Scroll down to Install zip and select it
  • Select Choose zip from /storage/sdcard1
  • Navigate to the location of and select it
  • Select Yes – Install SuperSU to confirm flashing.
  • Then wait for the flashing to complete...
  • Return to the home screen (using the back option) then select Reboot
  • If CWM offers to fix some errors, select No. 
  • That's all!

  • So you are successfully done with the rooting process!

    Note: It won't affect anything of your files like photos and many others but just to root only.

    How to check if my device is rooted

    After rooting, is sure that you will check if is rooted or not, that is also called verification so to check if your device is rooted, kindly install root checker here and launch it then click on VERIFY ROOT immediately it will tell if your device have been rooted or not with a green mark. As shown below;
