New Way To Remotely Locate Your Lost Phone Using Android Device Manager

Hello blazers, this tutorial will be so helpful in such a way that your smartphone device will always be protected, you can use it to track your device if is lost or stolen also but iPad and iPhone has this features in them as a "follow come" so nobody want to lose his or her phone just like that, that's what I decided to create this tutorial for the blazers.

So Apple (iPhone, iPad) users have long enjoyed the ability to track their devices if they were lost or stolen "The Find My iPhone" option has been proudly touted as an anti-theft measure, with stories online of people recovering their iPhone by turning up at the perp's door with the police in tow. Is so easy to track a phone but need proper configuration.

So Android has added a very similar feature called the Android Device Manager for GPS-equipped smartphones and tablets. It allows you to locate your lost device and also change passwords, lock screen PINs, and even remotely wipe your missing unit.

Here is how to set up your device or phone to use the service, so if your phone experienced that or fall behind the sofa, you will be able to track it using the Android Device Manager.

How To Set-Up Android Device Manager To Track Phone

STEP 1: So to start now, you have to install Android Device Manager on your phone from playstore or you can use website to process it by visiting www.google.com/android/devicemanager

STEP 2: Then you will be asked "Location data from your devices will be collected and sent to Google. Device location is approximate, and may not always be accurate.
If you believe your device has been stolen, please contact law enforcement. Do not attempt to retrieve the device yourself." So click on ACCEPT. As shown below;

STEP 3: Then go to your notification bar and turn your LOCATION on so immediately your phone will be detected and here you will see the current position of your handset, along with the last time it was used. As shown below;

STEP 4: To switch between devices click on the name and a drop down menu will appear. Select another model and you’ll be taken to the map screen for that one instead. You can also rename each device by clicking on the pencil icon. As shown below;

STEP 5: To step up a new device you’ll need to visit the App Store on the handset itself, then search for the Android Device Manager application. There are a few similar applications, so look for the one with the green circle and target in the middle.

STEP 6: After installing on your iPhone, accept the location data access the way it was explained in step 2 then accept and  The screen should now look remarkably, this is because the Android Device Manager application basically uses the website interface to run the service. Once your device has found a GPS signal it should appear on the drop-down menu. As shown below;

STEP 7:  Now you can take a closer look at the features available. Beneath the device name there are two different icons - Ring, and Set up Lock & Erase. We’ll look at how each of them work in turn, starting with Ring.

  • Selecting the Ring option will allow the app to make your device announce itself at maximum volume for five minutes, even if it’s locked and set to vibrate. This is particularly useful if you’ve lost it somewhere in the house.
  • Selecting Setup Lock and Erase will return a dialog box telling you that you need to send the device a notification. Tap Send and you’ll see a message appear in your notification bar for Android Device Manager, tap this.
STEP 8: You’ll now be taken to the settings for the app, where a pop up box will ask if you want to activate the device administrator? Agree to this and your device will now have access to all the security features.

STEP 9:  The Lock option will now allow you to remotely create a new password for the lock screen, while Wipe is the choice of last resort. Essentially it’s a factory reset which  removes all of your data from the device.Very effective in the event of a theft.

So thats all! So with this tutorial you will be able to track or locate your missing smartphone that may be very cost so you must always switch on your GPS so that it will be able to work.
